Raising Support

If, after your personal interview, we extend an invitation to you to serve as a Summer Missionary at Victory Valley, your first responsibility will be to raise a network of 25 adult prayer partners.  You may also approach younger people, but your required prayer support network will consist of at least 25 adults.  Victory Valley provides you with prayer partner commitment cards.  You will ask these people to pray daily for you, the campers, and for the Victory Valley minsitry.  During the summer, they will receive periodic updates with personal notes from you.  As you recruit your prayer team, you may also give them the opportunity to partner with you in ministry by contributing financially to Victory Valley Camp.

Options for Serving at Victory Valley Camp

1) Serve as a volunteer Summer Missionary.  You raise 25 adult prayer partners, but you need not raise funds.  You will not receive a paycheck, but you get housing and meals while you are at camp.  Download a Donor Support Form for Volunteers.

2) Serve as a supported Summer Missionary.  In addition to your 25 adult prayer partners, you will raise support within a target range depending on your particular role at camp (see the ranges under Pay and Benefits).  While the funds cannot be given in your name, we will track contributions from your prayer partners and determine your pay withing a predetermined target range.  Victory Valley Camp will match a portion of the funds that you raise.

How do I raise my support team?

1) Send out a personal letter asking people to pray for you and to consider supporting you financially.  Need help composing your letter?  We'd love to help you!  Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for samples and suggestions.

2) With your letter include:

- A copy of the Prayer-Support Letter from camp

- A copy of the Donor Form that they will send back to VVC (Donor Form for Volunteers not raising financial support)

Talk to your church missions committee first. Your first stop will be to contact your church missions committee.  Your church may have procedures in place for those who want to raise support teams, and they may want to help you and partner with you in the process.  Get in touch with the missions committee and ask if you can meet with them to explain your summer mission at Victory Valley.
